It's interesting to see how many people here like Steal This Album! most, given that it was mostly B-sides and rare tracks. 2002s Steal This Album, System Of A Downs platinum certified third full-length release, is an archival collection of material the band recorded from the. System of a Down were grouped into the late-‘90s nu-metal scene, but their penchant for experimentation quickly became apparentand impossible to categorize. Interestingly enough, I've been spinning it more recently than when I first got it some four years ago I think it's because I've stopped caring about trying to take it so seriously (I was 15 at the time, remember ) and accepted it for how ridiculous it is (there's nostalgia there, too.) There are some fairly catchy tunes on it, like "Radio/Video" and "Sad Statue." I enjoyed Hypnotize for its move back to more aggressive fare, other than the incredibly lame "Lonely Day." It seemed like they were trying too hard to be "crazy" on Mezmerize. During the livestream the band premiered their new music video for Genocidal Humanoidz which you can watch below.

System Of A Down hosted a charity livestream event over the weekend to raise money for wounded soldiers in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Don't listen to them now apart from the odd nostalgia trip. System Of A Down Genocidal Humanoids Official Video Feb 1, 2021.

That album had a couple of decent tunes on it and I liked the title track of Hypnotize but didn't hear anything else from it. SYSTEM OF A DOWN drummer John Dolmayan, who is currently promoting his 'These Grey Men' solo album, talked to 'Whiplash', the KLOS radio show hosted by Full Metal Jackie, about the bands stalled. It was all about self titled, Toxicity, and Steal This Album! Gave up on them after Mezmerize (sp?) cause I thought half the songs were shite, that "my cock is much bigger than yoo-oo-ooooours" tune pissed me off so much.

I used to love SOAD back in the day (04).
